01Topic 01Choosing a resin
Choosing a resin: which of ABS, PS or HIPS suits the part?
For an injection-moulded part, PS (general-purpose polystyrene) suits clear, rigid parts kept away from knocks, HIPS (high-impact polystyrene, toughened with rubber) suits parts that take everyday knocks, and ABS suits strong housings and covers, such as monitor housings and motorbike covers. Dayatas Profab sells all three resins to injection moulders; its ABS is recycled pellet, made in Malaysia.

02Topic 02Before you buy
Before you buy: what should a recycled resin datasheet show?
A recycled resin datasheet should give every value with its test standard and test conditions, state how much of the resin is recycled and where the scrap came from, and list the checks that catch contamination, such as ash. Its values are typical, so pair it with agreed limits and a test report for each lot. Quality and documents sets out where Dayatas Profab's own datasheets, test reports and certification for ABS, PS and HIPS stand.

03Topic 03From scrap to pellet
From scrap to pellet: how is plastic scrap made into resin?
Plastic scrap is made into resin pellets by mechanical recycling: it is sorted by polymer, ground into flakes, washed, separated and dried, then melted in an extruder that filters the melt before it is cut into pellets. For ABS, PS and HIPS, each step shapes what ends up in the pellet. Dayatas Profab's own footage shows a washing line, a sorting machine, molten strands leaving an extruder into cooling water and pellets on a sieve.

04Topic 04Selling your scrap
Selling your scrap: how does plastic scrap reach a recycler overseas?
Plastic scrap reaches a recycler overseas in sorted, single-polymer lots, each described in writing, and only once the seller's country lets it leave, the buyer's country admits it and the buyer is licensed to import it. Dayatas Profab, which sells ABS, PS and HIPS resin, is looking for suppliers of plastic scrap, home appliance and automotive plastic in Europe, America, Japan and Korea. From 21 November 2026, EU rules ban plastic waste exports to non-OECD countries such as Malaysia.
