Quality and documents: specs, test reports, certification and production film
Part of ABS, PS and HIPS resin: the documents that go with Dayatas Profab's resin, and where each one stands.

Dayatas Profab's production film is ready: it follows plastic scrap through washing, sorting and extrusion to pellets in 25 kg bags printed "ABS RECYCLED PELLET". Its resin spec sheets, test reports and copies of its certification and licences are not on this page yet. Each will be posted here, and no certificate, licence or test figure is named before then.

Which documents can buyers get from Dayatas Profab today?
Buyers in Europe and America ask a lot for four things: resin specifications, test reports, certification and video of the production. Each answers a different question. The film shows how the material is made; a spec sheet lists a resin's typical values; a test report shows what one lot measured; a licence shows that a plant is permitted by the authorities to operate, and to import scrap where it does; a certificate shows that a third party has checked the process or the recycled content.
Dayatas Profab's production film is ready to watch today, and it leads the exhibit below. Its spec sheets, test reports and copies of its certification and licences are not posted yet. This page says where each one stands rather than quote numbers Dayatas Profab has not published.

What does Dayatas Profab's production film show?
Dayatas Profab's production film is a silent, 31-second cut of its own footage, made for buyers who want to see the process before they buy. Tap the film to play it, and tap again to pause.
- 01Plastic scrap heaped in the yard.
- 02A loader tips crushed flakes onto the stockpile.
- 03The washing line churns the flakes.
- 04A sorting machine works the flakes, and sorted flake runs into bulk bags.
- 05Molten strands leave the extruder into cooling water.
- 06Fresh pellets cross a vibrating sieve.
- 07Pellets run from a silo into bags printed "ABS RECYCLED PELLET / MADE IN MALAYSIA / NET WEIGHT 25KG".
- 08Bagged resin stacked in the warehouse.
The printed bag is the first label a buyer reads on a lot: it names the resin, says it is recycled and made in Malaysia, and gives the net weight. Each step, with its own clip and what happens to the plastic there, is on how Dayatas Profab's resin is made.
What should a resin datasheet show before you buy?
A datasheet gives a resin's typical values, the numbers a buyer judges a grade by. For a recycled resin the first questions are the same as for any resin: will it flow into my tool, will the part survive the knocks it takes, and what will it weigh. Every value should name the standard it was measured to, because the same property measured two ways gives two different numbers.
| Property | What it tells a moulder | Test standard |
|---|---|---|
| Melt flow rate (MFR / MVR) | How easily the melt flows: a first guide to whether the resin will flow like the one you run now | ISO 1133-1, ASTM D1238 |
| Izod impact strength | How much energy a notched bar absorbs before it breaks: toughness | ISO 180 (kJ/m²), ASTM D256 (J/m) |
| Density | Mass per volume: part weight and shot size | ISO 1183-1 |
| Tensile properties | The pull a bar takes before it yields or breaks | ISO 527-2 |
Izod impact strength shows why. ISO 180 reports it in kilojoules per square metre of the notched section, while ASTM D256 reports it in joules per metre of specimen width, so an ISO figure and an ASTM figure cannot be compared directly (sources 3, 4). The melt flow rate is the mass of molten resin, in grams, pushed through a standard die in ten minutes at a set temperature and load (sources 1, 2). Dayatas Profab's spec sheets for its ABS, PS and HIPS are not posted yet; until they are, no datasheet value is quoted on this site (can I see a datasheet before I order?).
Does Dayatas Profab have test reports?
A datasheet describes a resin; a test report describes material. It gives a laboratory's results for one specific lot, measured against named test standards. With recycled resin the gap between the two matters more than with virgin resin, because the scrap that goes in varies, so ask for both. When you read a test report, check three things before you set it beside the datasheet:
- Which standardEach figure names the standard it was measured to, ISO or ASTM, so it can be compared with the datasheet value for the same standard.
- Which laboratoryThe laboratory that measured the material is named on the report.
- Which lotThe lot the figures belong to, so you know they describe the material you are buying.
Dayatas Profab's test reports are not posted yet and will be listed here once available; ask for the report on the lot you are buying. The FAQ answers whether Dayatas Profab has test reports and certification.
Does Dayatas Profab hold certification or licences?
Copies of Dayatas Profab's certificates and licences are not on this site yet. None is named here until the document is in hand, because a certificate named without the paper behind it is worth nothing to a buyer's quality team. When each arrives it will be listed here with what it covers.
In general, buyers of recycled resin ask a recycler for three kinds of document. The ledger below says what each kind shows a buyer; it describes kinds of document, not papers Dayatas Profab holds today.
- Licence to operate
- The permission a plant usually needs from the authorities where it turns plastic scrap into resin
- Papers for imported scrap
- For scrap that crosses borders, the documents that show it moved legally; shipments of plastic waste between countries are controlled under the Basel Convention
- Recycled-content certification
- A third party's check that a resin sold as recycled is what its label says
If your customer requires a particular certificate, name it in your enquiry so the reply can address it.
Which flame rating do monitor housings need?
Monitor housings, one of the parts moulders make with Dayatas Profab's resin, are electronics enclosures, and enclosures are often specified with a flame rating. The common one is UL 94, the plastics flammability standard from UL. Its ratings for enclosure materials include HB, V-2, V-1 and V-0, set in small-scale tests on a bar of the material; each rating sets how quickly the flame must go out and what drips may do (sources 7, 8).
- HBBurns slowly on a horizontal bar
- V-2Stops burning within 30 s; burning drips may ignite the cotton
- V-1Stops burning within 30 s; no burning drips ignite the cotton
- V-0Stops burning within 10 s; no burning drips ignite the cotton
The vertical ratings also record whether burning drips ignite a cotton indicator placed under the bar, which is the difference between V-2 and V-1. A rating belongs to a specific material at a stated thickness, so it has to be on that material's own documents. No UL 94 rating is stated for any Dayatas Profab resin yet; if your part needs one, name the rating in your enquiry.
How do you ask Dayatas Profab for a document?
The quickest way to the right document is to give four things in your first message. Dayatas Profab replies with what is ready for the resin you name.
- 01The resinABS, PS or HIPS.
- 02The partWhat you mould, and what it must survive.
- 03Your marketWhere the finished parts are sold, which decides the rules they must meet.
- 04The documents your customer requiresSpec sheet, test report to a named standard, certification, or the production film.
If the documents are for your own customer, say so, and name the standard they work to. Prices and lead times are not listed on this site: ask about them in your enquiry, as the page on ABS, PS and HIPS resin explains, and the questions buyers ask most are answered in the FAQ. More guides for buyers are on Insights.
